About
One week of music
DSSM brings young musicians together for a week that matters. Since 1999, we've built something real.

Built by volunteers, sustained by passion
For over 25 years, DSSM has opened its doors to young musicians aged 6-18, offering a week where learning happens in a room full of energy and support. We're a non-profit organisation run entirely by volunteers who believe music belongs to everyone, regardless of experience or background.

The people behind it
DSSM doesn't have paid staff. Every year, a committee of ten volunteers gives up evenings, weekends, and a full week of summer to make the school happen. They book the tutors, organise the timetable, handle registrations, set up rooms, solve problems on the day, and clear up after the concert on Friday evening.
Some have been involved since the very beginning. Others joined more recently, bringing fresh energy and ideas. What they share is a belief that young people in Donegal deserve access to quality music education — and a willingness to do the work to make it real.
